Chris
Founder & Cricket Enthusiast
Hi, I'm Chris — founder of Switch Hit, cricket enthusiast, and lifelong learner of the game.
"Switch Hit was born from a simple belief: that every cricketer, at any level, deserves the tools to understand and improve their game through better reflection and data."
I live in Sydney, Australia, but my cricketing journey began in the fields of England, where I spent my formative years learning from exceptional players and coaches. I played to a solid standard, competing with and against talented cricketers who pushed me to grow, reflect, and refine my craft.
One defining moment from those early days has stayed with me: after a game as a teenager, I noticed a teammate quietly jotting down notes in a notebook. When I asked what he was doing, he told me he was recording his performance, how he felt, and whether he had made progress on his goals.
I laughed at the time.
That teammate went on to play for England. I didn't.
Since then, I've become a firm believer in the power of reflection. Recording your training, performances, emotions, and goals isn't just a nice-to-have — it's a cornerstone of improvement. Whether you're pushing for higher honours or just want to get better at the game you love, having a reference point helps you learn, adapt, and grow.
Now, as a coach of junior cricket teams, I see the same lessons play out every week. In today's world, where distractions are everywhere and the pace of life is fast, players often move from one session or match to the next without stopping to reflect. Switch Hit was created to change that — to give players a simple but powerful space to capture their journey in the game.
The Switch Hit Difference
This app blends the best of tradition and technology. It allows players to log training, record emotions, reflect on match day performances, and track personal progress — all from the device they already use every day.
More than just a diary, Switch Hit brings the power of data and AI to grassroots and junior cricket. It enables players to discover connections between their preparation, their mindset, and their on-field outcomes — insights that are often hidden but can be transformational.
Let me be clear: Switch Hit isn't here to replace great coaching. Nothing can. But it can support players in the many hours when they're training solo, hitting balls with mates, or simply thinking about the game. It's a digital partner for every cricketer who wants to improve.
My goal with Switch Hit is simple: if just one cricketer becomes better through using this app — more focused, more thoughtful, more resilient — then I've achieved what I set out to do.
Happy Switch Hitting,
Chris
